Your Center Needs You!

We all know how good it feels to give of ourselves. The Lambda Community Center Association, which oversees operation of the Abdill-Ellis Community Center, provides a variety of opportunities for us to give back just a little to our community. Heres a list of volunteer opportunities that will allow you to get involved in your community, give a little of yourself, and feel GREAT:
Member-at-Large, Board of Directors: Currently there are several vacant positions on the LCCA Board of Directors. The responsibility of the board of directors is to oversee the operation of the Center and to insure compliance with its Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and Standing Rules and Procedures. The Board meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 7-9 pm at The Center, 208 Oak Street, Suite 112, Ashland. The Board is especially interested in hearing from individuals who have a background and experience in accounting, fundraising and grant writing. Contact the center at 779-3902 for more information.
Committee Members: The LCCA currently has four committees responsible for overseeing a variety of Center activities. Committees meet the 4th Tuesday of each Month at the Center. These committees are: Finance Committee - Responsible for fundraising, membership, grants and special events. Contact the Center at 488-6990 for more information.
Bylaws Committee - Responsible for by-laws, policy and procedure, personnel, board development and elections. For more information on the Bylaws Committee, contact the Center at 488-6990.
Publications Committee Responsible for the newsletter, public relations, vendor lists, posters and flyers. Contact the Center at 488-6990 regarding the Publications Committee.
Center Committee Responsible for developing and directing Center activities, as well as program oversight. Please contact the Center at 488-6990 for additional information.
Volunteer Staff: The Center is in need of individuals who can volunteer time to keep the Center open on a consistent basis. Volunteer staff is responsible for answering phones, providing resource information, assisting in maintaining the library, and greeting guests. Training is available. Contact Lesllie Sadur, Volunteer Coordinator at 488-6990 to sign up!
Without dedicated volunteers, The Center is limited in its effectiveness and viability within the community. Wont you please help?
