Growth and Programming:

NSNS, Southern Oregon’s GLBTQ Youth Group, ages 14-25, is thrilled to announce the conception of Lotus Rising Project (LRP): Youth led Social Change through Compassionate Support. LRP has applied for non-profit status, and the board thanks the Abdill-Ellis Center for serving as our fiscal agent throughout the process.

 

Our current full board consists of a group of committed, creative, loving, fun, intelligent, and diverse people. We are currently supporting two programs. The first program is our beloved NSNS and the second is the much-needed Southern Oregon Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Support Network. Our next program goal is to create an organic, sustainable food bank.

 

Many thanks to the McKenzie River Foundation, PRIDE Foundation and Equity Foundation and the volunteer youth and adults who have made this happen.

 

Cirque du Carnival - NSNS’s Annual Fund Raiser:

 

The goal is to bring together all ages, like the Black and White Ball, with a twist that replicates the prom you may never have had or can’t attend presently within the local high schools as a same gendered couple.

• Blue Lightning with its new members will perform for the first time along
  with a DJ.
• A professional photographer will offer photos.
• Dress according to the theme or in prom wear.
• A ride share program is being organized for those out of town.
• Call our number if you need a ride.
• Appetizers and the crowning of a court based on social justice contributions will be part of the experience.
• Be on the lookout for the coronation nomination form.  Join the fun!
